So I did it......

So, today I did the incredible, I purchased an iPad. I'd been debating with myself whether it was worth it or not. I kept saying I'm going to way until the next generation, but who knows when that is coming out!

Now for those that are wondering, the iPad is a SICK device! Yes, i do know there is soo much more work that needs to be done, more apps to be developed, but in about two yrs or so....This is It!

Window Seat, Expand your mind!

Twitter popped off this morning about this here new video of Miss Erykah Badu. I didn't even know she had a single out because...actually I don't know why lol, but don't judge me. The concept of the video certainly goes hand in hand with the lyrics of the song.

My thoughts are simple...... a window seat is a ticket out of here, a ticket to somewhere better. Better can be anywhere, heaven, a better love, anything. Basically she is saying who is gonna miss me, who is gonna care that im gone. So why not walk butt naked down the street, shed all my layers of "depression" and start over again like a new born baby.....purity....evolving (like her tattoo said). If somebody stops me (like assassinating her in the video), then at least I set the tone for next person to not be afraid of expression, Im going to be the guinea pig for change.

Imma let yall touch the political side to this here video, in more detail. But, I KNOW there are so many other angles to decipher this, I quickly ran my thoughts on this. Let's talk......What do you think?

Big Ups to Erykah Badu for this one..for those that are angry because she showed her ass literally and some 'mo, get over it..it's 2010 and we are adults, I hope you've had action in your lifetime to know what these things look like.

So to all that don't know, I love to eat! But you would never know because I am a fan of fitness. Anyway, today I went to Red Lobster for the first time in about three years! I had about 4 biscuits and some delicious shrimp and Lobster pasta. I murdered it!

X Squared

I had the pleasure of taking a trip down Newbury Street. in Boston recently. Ironically a parking spot was available right in front of this sneaker "kingdom" lol. As we know I have a huge sneaker fetish, so this was right up my alley. Im making it a point to visit every TOP sneaker store in every major city I hit.

Anyway X-Sqaured is located in Boston on Newbury Street. If you are ever in that area and you love sneakers like I do. Check them out. The customer service was excellent and everyone was knowledgeable of each item. I definitely will go back every time I hit up Beantown!

Yo! Diggy Simmons is THAT lil dude! After watching Run's House, I already noticed he was a cut above all the rest of the Simmons' boys. He was always in his own world and his fashion sense was ridiculous. BUT, I had no idea what to expect before I clicked the play button. This lil dude is the next Simmons to do it! Weezy betta get those Young Money youngins moving along....because here comes Diggy! Good job young dude!

Hootie Hoooo!

So...I've never been to a Hooters before lol. I went to a grand opening VIP party about a month ago out in West Springfield, MA.
My homie DW is a personal trainer and put the waitresses through a boot camp session prior to this event. So in return they hooked her up with passes. So let's just say I had a grand time and I chilled with Beyonce's sister posted above :-). I met random people...random drunk people....Doctor's, Lawyers and ended up on an all expense paid trip to the strip club lol.

P.S. the food at Hooters is good $$!

Cesario XVI

At one point Creative Recreation's made it to the style and fashion along the East Coast. Being a pretty West Coast dominated shoe, I fell in the love with them, so I am going to keep them on the East Coast. Well this is a Spring 2010 addition, Creative Recreation Cesario XVI. I'm going to definitely cop these. In the Spring/Summer I love to wear light shoes on my feet...canvas style shoes.

National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

Hey World!

I am finally home after a 6 day road trip from Philadelphia/Ohio. But I wanted to share with you a very touching experience. While in Cincinnati, I had the opportunity to visit the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Personally, I've never heard of this center. We were given an introduction speech where the guy said....slavery didn't only exist in the SOUTH....it was heavy in the NORTH as well. I was taught all these years that the North was the place to gain your freedom, but it wasn't as free as we thought...interesting. One of the most touching exhibits in this center was the "Without Sanctuary" exhibit. This featured ACTUAL lynching photography in America. I can't even begin to describe what I witnessed. 41 states participated in lynching. To be honest, although it's 2010, I had a slight feeling of hate in my blood, not understanding why people could be so cruel. I mean there were photos of CROWDS of people pointing and laughing at our ancestors while they burn and hang from trees, I couldn't stomach it. We had such a short time in the Center because we were on a tight schedule. However if I am ever in the area again, I will be going back. But in the meantime, check out the website http://www.freedomcenter.org/

Question: In the image above....describe your thoughts?

The Introduction

Wasup World??
Some of you know me personally, but most of you have pretty much only "social networked" with me. This blog is designed to elaborate on my daily status updates via Twitter and Facebook. I plan to update this blog a few times a week. I am a lover of fashion, music and sports, but so is everyone, right? So my plan is to go above and beyond the consensus and engage you all with my views, not on what this world has to offer to us, but what we have to offer to this world! Welcome to Leena's World!
